ABOUT

TERRY NOFFSINGER

Mr. Noffsinger’s dynamic career as an attorney has spanned four decades, during which he successfully tried more than a hundred jury trials. His legal skills have been featured on no less than “20/20,” “48 Hours,” “Dateline,” “Fox News Special Report, “Hardball with Chris Matthews,” “The Sam Donaldson Show–Live in America,” “All Things Considered,” and, most recently, Harvard University Law School. Mr. Noffsinger’s exploits have been chronicled in the pages of publications such as the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Newsweek. The Evansville native’s legal career began in, of all places, ViệtNam. During the war, then-Lt. Noffsinger served as the legal officer at U.S. Army 2nd Signal Group Headquarters in Long Bình, about 20 miles east of Sàigòn. Long Bình was, at the time, the largest American base outside the continental United States. For his service, Lt. Noffsinger received the Bronze Star and the U.S. Army Commendation medal.

Immediately following his experience in the military, he served as Chief Deputy Prosecutor in Evansville, a position he held until 1974. In the decades since his prosecutorial days, Mr. Noffsinger has represented individuals and corporations in complex cases in private practice.

He is currently in the process of appealing the constitutionality of the 1975 Medical Malpractice Act, which limits the damages that may be awarded by courts when finding in favor of victims. Mr. Noffsinger has also recently advocated on behalf of compulsive gamblers who fall prey to casinos that exploit their addiction. In this capacity, he was recently invited to speak at Harvard Law School where he was awarded a Certificate of Recognition “for his courage, creativity, and commitment bringing lawsuits against casinos on behalf of compulsory gamblers targeted by those casinos.”

Mr. Noffsinger is a graduate of Indiana University’s Business and Law schools. He is admitted to the Indiana state bar, Southern Indiana U.S. District Court, U.S. Federal Claims Court, U.S. Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Noffsinger and, Cheryl, his wife of 49 years, are the parents of Leigh, an attorney in Seattle, and Alex, a business executive in Dallas. Their son Kyle is an attorney at Kooi Law. They are also the grandparents of Karson, Anna, and Owen.
